Rakić A et al 1998 modeled complex dielectic function of 11 metals: silver (Ag), aluminum (Al), gold (Au), beryllium (Be), chromium (Cr), copper,(Cu), nickel (Ni), palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt), titanium (Ti), and tungsten (W) by using the Lorentz-Drude model (for example, Powell CJ 1970, 6 oscillators) extended with the Brendel-Bormann model (Brendel R and Bormann 1992, 7 oscillators) of the dielectric function. The number of oscillators includes the plasma frequency oscillator. Several of these metals (for example, aluminum and gold) are commonly used as reflective coatings for optical components.
